Trail "People and their Landscape"
As part of the project „People and their Landscape“, we would like to introduce you to the village of Kojakovice – one of the picturesque little villages in the Trebon Protected Landscape Area. The village is specially protected as a „Monument Zone“ of rural architecture. You will find here a collection of typical South Bohemian courtyard farms and small farm cottages.
In the summer months, you can visit the Kojakovice Museum housed in the former school here. It provides extensive information about 19th century rural history. It is not a museum about generalities but focuses on personal stories and local history and traditions. Part of that history also includes a strong wave of emigration to the then-young United States.
On the information shields in the centre of the village, you will find five beetagg shields (on the information shields in front of the schools and next to the bus station, and with the statue). In cooperation with the Czech Ministry of Environment, the Rozmberk Society decided to use this new way of distributing information directly to your mobile phone. These Beetagg shields link you to a special website that provides you with a short history, stories of interest, or architecture of that location or topic.
